How TEFA Funds Work
Every program works a little differently. Here's a general overview for Texas families.
Apply and Qualify
Submit your TEFA application through the Texas Comptroller's Odyssey portal at educationfreedom.texas.gov. Once approved, you'll receive access to the Odyssey marketplace.
Check Marketplace Availability
Check the Odyssey marketplace for currently available Preparation Station offerings. Vendor approval does not guarantee search placement, category placement, or offering availability.
Select a Credit Amount
Choose the credit amount that meets your learner's needs. Funding timelines are set by the program administrator.
Shop and Learn
Use TEFA funds only for offerings that are currently available and eligible through Odyssey.
